Thank You Brackley - Teddy Bear Picnic 2025

Posted in Events

We want to say a massive, heartfelt thank you to everyone who made yesterday’s Teddy Bear Picnic in the Park such a wonderful event. From 10am, families began arriving with teddies and picnics in hand, ready for a beautifully sunny day of fun and games in the park.

The Brackley Town Mayor, Cllr Bernie Tiller, launched the first bear of the day from the top of a towering cherry picker. The bear landed safely on the ground, kicking off the day’s activities in style.

Throughout the day, we enjoyed a brilliant mix of stories, rhymes, music and games. Brackley Town Council aims to keep this event as low-cost as possible for attendees, knowing how expensive life can be these days! Every activity was completely free, and the park was filled with laughter and excitement thanks to the fantastic team who helped organise and run the event.

We’d like to extend a special thanks to our wonderful stallholders for providing such great free activities for the children:
SNYE, Friends of Brackley Library, Brackley Food Bank, Bupa Dentalcare, Brackley Hogwatch, Brackley Leisure Centre, Dogs for Good and Heartstart First Aid.

We’re also hugely grateful to Southern Plant Hire for providing the cherry picker FREE! Without it, the teddies wouldn’t have been able to make their daring jumps.

Another big thank you to Viv Wade for her brilliant performances with the children, leading songs for everyone to join in and enjoy.

Also, we mustn't forget the Brackley Litter Wombles! We are so grateful for their unrelenting efforts to keep Brackley clean and tidy for us all. They were hard at work yesterday, iconic purple bags in hand.

Thank you to the local Police for supporting the event, and getting stuck in dancing with the little ones!

Congratulations to all the raffle winners, especially the lucky little one who took home Big Bear - the top prize in the Mayor’s Raffle. Proceeds went to the Mayor’s chosen charity this year, B Yourself, a local organisation supporting the mental health of children and young people in Brackley.

We sincerely hope everyone enjoyed the event as much as we did. Most of all, we want to thank the mums, dads and especially the kids for turning up and making the day so memorable.

We love our little community, and events like this remind us just how lucky we are to have such wonderful residents in Brackley.
