Parks and Open Spaces

Open Spaces
Brackley Town Council looks after 70 open spaces which vary in size and purpose. This means our grounds team maintains approximately 283,280 square meters of grass as well as over 8,500 trees including 40 fruit trees in the community orchard at Tudor Park.
We have established wild flower meadows within Brackley and work closely with the Brackley Wildlife Trust to improve our biodiversity and wildlife habitat around the town.
Our parks include:
- The Town Park
- Poppyfields Park
- Egerton Fields
- St James’ Lake
- Swift Way Open Space
- Tudor Way Park
...and many more.
Some of these spaces can be used by hirers for sessional or event use. The Town Park often becomes home to big community events such as the Beer Fest. Local groups or larger organizations are welcome to hire the spaces.
Each request is taken on a case by case basis to ensure the open space is the best fit for your needs. For further information, please contact us.

Resident Banner Guidelines
Brackley Town Council provides a number of designated locations where banners can be displayed to promote local community activity. These include the flower beds at the junction of Banbury Road and the High Street, Zipwire Park at Humphries Drive and Pavillons Way, and the railings surrounding Poppyfields Park.
Banners placed on Council-owned land must be non-commercial in nature, appropriate in content, and professionally presented. This means banners for charities and non-profit community groups are permitted, while commercial advertising is prohibited. The Council reserves the right to refuse or remove any banner considered inappropriate, offensive, or the subject of repeated complaints.
Poppyfields Park has a limited exception in place to support local events. At this location only, banners promoting events taking place within Brackley may be permitted, including those with a commercial element. However, banners advertising events outside of Brackley, or any other form of commercial advertising, are not permitted.
Before installing a banner, space must be booked in advance. To make an application, please contact the Council by email at office@brackleynorthants-tc.gov.uk or by phone on 01280 702 441, Monday to Friday between 9am and 4pm. The Council will confirm the approved location, along with the installation and removal dates, and any specific display requirements.
Event banners at Poppyfields Park may be displayed for up to two weeks before the event and must be removed within three days after it has taken place. For all other banners, the display period will be agreed as part of the booking process.
Any banner displayed without permission, outside designated areas, or left beyond the agreed period will be safely removed and stored at Council premises. Owners can arrange collection by contacting the Council. Banners not collected within two weeks of removal may be disposed of.
