Heritage Open Days - Self Guided Tour Booklet

Heritage Open Days is upon us, England’s largest festival of history and culture. This year’s festival runs from Friday 11 to Sunday 20 September, with the theme ‘Everyday Histories’.
In addition to the exhibition and talk this Sunday for Heritage Open Days week, we're excited to officially announce the launch of the Heritage Open Days Brackley Self-Guided Tour Booklet!
You can get yours this Sunday at either the exhibition, 10am–3pm, or the talk, 4pm–5pm, at the Town Hall. We've made sure the booklets are completely free, so everyone has the opportunity to learn about our town’s rich history, with no strings attached!
The historical content in the guide was lovingly produced by members of Brackley & District History Society, with the design and print work covered by us, Brackley Town Council. It takes the reader on a route through the heart of Brackley, starting on the High Street near Winchester House, before heading through Old Town, back along the High Street and down towards St James Lake. From there, the route takes in a number of other historic sites before reaching the Feed My Lambs building, making a full loop.
You can simply enjoy reading through the guide from home for the fascinating historical information it contains, or, if you fancy being a little more adventurous and getting out for a walk as autumn begins to set in, follow the route using the handy map on the back of the booklet.
Collect your free self-guided tour booklet at the Town Hall this Sunday, or, if you're not able to make it to the exhibition or the talk, then you can stop by the Brackley Town Council office throughout the Heritage Open Days week, where we'll have copies to collect for anyone that loves a bit of local history, either cozied up at home or out and about!
